Product Questions
I am considering the Stake Pocket Spare Mount for my new U6 utility trailer and have watched your video on how it's installed and the fact that it does have a means to tighten the mount to the stake pocket.
However, my concern is that due to the combined weight of the spare tire and mount, will road vibration/bounce, etc. eventually create wear in the stake pocket so that the mount will not be able to be tightened enough to provide a tight fit?

Could be Better
I bought this item about a year ago and had the local dealer install it. I kept noticing the mount would loosen up so I religiously tightened it back down. One night when I got home I checked it and the bottom bracket and bolt had fallen completely off. I told the dealer what had happened and they sold me another bracket and bolt. When I was trying to tighten down the new bolt I realized it does not have thread all the way to the end, and it was bottoming out. I ended up having to get several different combinations of hardware on it to secure it. After all that it still isn't very tight.
I'm getting ready to drive about 2800 miles round trip with cars on my trailer so I decided I would like to have a second spare. Out on the highway when one goes it can take the other with it pretty quick. I picked it up and installed it myself today. Once again the bolt was going to bottom out so I used a spacer that was about 3/4" long to keep it from spinning out. I have a 16' U8 utility trailer. This is just poor attention to detail in my opinion. Once I added the spacer the new mount snugged down and it isn't going anywhere.

Works very well
I put one of these on my old PJ flatbed trailer, and it works great. It's accessible, yet out of the way. It is also movable if the different loads dictate re-positioning it.

Pocket Tire mount
Another great PJ product. Exceptional quality and can be located on any pocket to allow out of the way placement of the spare.

space saver
Our customers really like this spare mount because they don't have to bolt it to their trailer and it keeps the spare up out of the way.
