I have a U7 trailer with sides, there are 2 stake pockets behind the tires, they do measure about 3 3/4. Does the tire carrier fit those?

I am considering the Stake Pocket Spare Mount for my new U6 utility trailer and have watched your video on how it's installed and the fact that it does have a means to tighten the mount to the stake pocket.

However, my concern is that due to the combined weight of the spare tire and mount, will road vibration/bounce, etc. eventually create wear in the stake pocket so that the mount will not be able to be tightened enough to provide a tight fit?

I just purchased a U8 14 foot Utility Trailer and want to purchase a Stake Pocket Spare Tire Mount. What size of Drive In Studs and Lug Nuts do I need? 1/2 " or 9/16"?

Good quality but mount to trailer is loose.
Mount is well constructed and powder coated. the bolt pattern fits my wheel and is held securely. The mount fits into one of the 4 available U8 stake holders but a loose fit. the bolt that tightens from the bottom was too long, replaced yet the mount is still loose in the stake holder. It won't fall out, but is not tight in the hole. Otherwise, is as advertised.

    Love this tire mount!
Always a good idea to have a spare tire, and keeping one on the trailer is easy with this mount!

    Does the job
I really like the idea this product. It holds the spare out of the way, and also allows you to move it if needed. Plus since it doesn't mount at the front or the tongue of the trailer it does not interfere with a tongue box. Just MAKE SURE YOUR LUG PATTERN IS COMPATIBLE. I have 5 on 4.5" lug pattern on my 18' x 7' car hauler and was only able to use one of the factory punched holes. I had to drill another hole to accommodate the other 9/16x18 lug bolt. The mount I received also had clumps of caked on powder coating or metal shards finished over in one of the holes and on the front of the plate. I had to drill out the hole, die grind the plate, and paint it before I could complete the install. It would also make more sense to have the lugs mount top and bottom, or have a third lug on the bottom to hold the wheel flush against the plate. This might make your deck over trailer too wide as well. I have 205/75 tires on 15x5 wheels and It sticks out about 12.5 inches from the side of the frame. It's about 3.5" passed my fenders which are roughly 100" wide. 3 out of 5 stars.

    Handy item
Well built and strong item, using on a deck over trailer, concerned about sticking out too far.
