I am considering the Stake Pocket Spare Mount for my new U6 utility trailer and have watched your video on how it's installed and the fact that it does have a means to tighten the mount to the stake pocket.
However, my concern is that due to the combined weight of the spare tire and mount, will road vibration/bounce, etc. eventually create wear in the stake pocket so that the mount will not be able to be tightened enough to provide a tight fit?

Works Well
I like the ability to move the spare tire depending on the load, it allows you a sense of security knowing you have a spare all the time and not have to worry about forgetting it.

Great product
I ordered one of the tire mounts to move the tire from the jack area to have more room. Installation was very easy and it works very well. Great design folks.

Stake pocket spare tire.
Spare tire holder worked well w stake pockets. Only issue is that the tire sticks out much wider than trailer making it illegal in California and unsafe if you have traffic and narrow lane. Easy fix would be to add stake pocket in front of trailer.

It WorksThis was a replacement for my plug that came out of the socket and dragged 400 miles on the highway. Probably happened going through road construction. From now on, it gets zip tied. This replacement was not as top quality as the factory, but much better than I could find in any automotive parts store.Review -
D rings and spare tire holderI purchased 6 D rings and a spare tire holder. The D rings are much heavier duty than I expected. I just used them to secure a 3000 pound utility tractor. I used 4 D rings and they worked fantastically. The spare tire holder is also heavy duty. I like that I can easily more it to a different location if I want to. Tire mountOverall I'm very pleased with the spare tire mounts. I'll probably never move them, but I like having the ability to do so if needed. The only complaint I have was with the packaging for shipment. One of the main bolts was missing. It appears that the mounting bolts and washers are installed then hand tightened. In my box, the bolt was missing but the 2 washers and nut were there. Another nut and washer had come off of a second bolt. The box was in pretty bad shape when it arrived, and I'm sure that missing bolt escaped that way. I blame UPS, not PJ. But nonetheless, I was missing a bolt. It might be a better practice for future shipments to place all hardware in a sealed bag and attach that bag to the bracket. Preferably with some shrink or Saran type wrap. But that's just my suggestion. Also, the bolt was nothing odd or special. Local neighborhood hardware shop had one.Scooter
